Bcompact Lands the White House as Its Biggest Client Yet

Bcompact Lands the White House as Its Biggest Client Yet

April 1, 2025 – For immediate release

We’re not usually the type to name-drop, but when the address is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, we’re making an exception.

That’s right—Bcompact has officially been chosen to design and install our signature bamboo staircases for the White House. Yes, the actual White House. The one with the situation room, secret tunnels, and (soon) some very sleek, very sustainable stairs.

According to sources close to the project, President Donald J. Trump was personally involved in the selection process. During a private tour of our manufacturing facility in Tuggerah (which we can now confirm included a surprisingly in-depth discussion about the tensile strength of bamboo), he declared:

“These stairs? These are the most luxurious stairs anyone’s ever seen. People are saying it. I’ve seen a lot of stairs. Trump Tower has incredible stairs. But these? These are classy. And eco-friendly—which, believe me, I care about very deeply now.”

The President has reportedly ordered custom gold-trimmed foldable bamboo stairs for the Oval Office, a matching bamboo ramp for Marine One (“so the chopper looks more presidential,” he explained), and a full spiral installation in the newly renamed “Trump Dining Room.”

Vice President JD Vance, who is said to be leading the administration’s new “Back to Nature” domestic policy, praised the partnership:

“Look, when you’ve got a material that’s stronger than steel, lighter than hardwood, and regrows faster than a political opinion on Twitter, you use it. This isn’t just about stairs—it’s about symbolism. America’s ascending again.”

Our team has been working closely with White House staff to ensure the installation meets strict federal safety codes, Secret Service security concerns, and—most importantly—the President’s request that “each step feels like you’re walking on a billion-dollar IPO.”

We’re especially proud that this project aligns with Bcompact’s core mission: championing sustainability, innovation, and the future of bamboo as a serious contender in global design. While this may be our first presidential project, it certainly won’t be our last (we’re looking at you, Parliament House ).

And if you’re wondering what’s next? We hear Trump is already considering bamboo golf tee holders for Mar-a-Lago. We’ll keep you posted.

Happy April 1st.
